The Advocacy Foundation’s “Rockin’ Austin Battle of the Bands” is a fictional event and associated campaign that various collateral was designed for. Research was conducted on similar events, a brand board was created, and target audience profiles were created for Allies and Beneficiaries. Collateral was designed for each target audience in the form of flyers, posters, signage, digital ads, event app, T-shirts, water bottles, and tote bags.
The Setup
Client: The Advocacy Foundation
The Advocacy Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to aiding the LGBTQIA community and focuses on mental health issues among the population. The organization was begun three years ago and is based out of Austin, TX.
Event: Austin’s Battle of the Bands
Austin’s Battle of the Bands will be a live music event where local bands of all different genres will compete for the title of “Best Band.”
Bands of all genres will be invited to participate. The band that receives the most votes on social media will be declared the winner and given the title of “Best Band.”
The event will take place in April; tickets will be sold. Food, alcohol, and camping will all be available for additional fees. Local businesses will be invited to purchase a spot to set up a tent or booth and will be asked to support the overall event as well. The Advocacy Foundation will have information and resources available during the event.
Campaign collateral will be needed before the event to invite bands to participate and the public to attend. Collateral will be needed for both days of the event. Public relations will be utilized at the event’s conclusion to announce the winner and thank all participants, attendees, businesses, and volunteers.
Budget: $18K
Initially $16K, but $2K added in the middle of the project to include rushed designs for shirts and an app.
